PRODUCT FAQ

  1. What is the 3M Dynatel 2550XT primarily used for?

The 3M Dynatel 2550XT is a versatile locator designed to help you quickly and accurately detect underground utilities including electrical cables, telecommunications lines, and water/utility pipes. It's an essential tool for any job site where you need to safely identify buried infrastructure before digging.

  2. What does the "12W Ready" specification mean?

The "12W Ready" means this locator is compatible with 12-watt transmitters, giving you powerful signal transmission for locating utilities at greater depths and distances. This makes it ideal for larger projects and challenging terrain where you need maximum locating capability.

  3. Can this locator work with different types of utilities?

Absolutely! The EMS/ID/UC designation tells you this unit handles multiple utility types—EMS (Electromagnetic Signal) for tracing conductive lines, ID (Inductive) for non-conductive pipes and cables, and UC (Utility Cable) for finding various cable types. One tool does the job of several.

  4. What's included in the package, and what's the coupler size?

Each case comes with one complete 3M Dynatel 2550XT locator unit. The 4.5" coupler is the connection point that allows you to attach the locator to transmitter accessories, making setup quick and straightforward on the job site.
